When Fresh KDS is set up as a printer in Square, online order tickets must be enabled under the Square Printer Settings.

Don't see your Square Online Orders in Fresh KDS? Try this!

Before you begin, please confirm:

  • Fresh KDS and Square are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

    Fresh KDS will not work if you use your Square POS as a hotspot.

  • Fresh KDS App is up to date.

    Check the latest version (& release notes) here.

  • Square POS is up to date.

Step 1: Restart your KDS, Square POS, and Router to refresh the connection.

Fresh KDS will only broadcast as a printer if the KDS App is open. Minimizing the app, powering the tablet off, or allowing it to go into sleep mode will temporarily break the connection with your POS.

Step 2: Confirm Fresh KDS is set up as a Printer Station in Square.

  1. From your Square POS, tap ‘More’ on the bottom navigation bar.

  2. Navigate to Settings - Hardware - Printers.

  3. Fresh KDS will be listed under ‘Printer Model.’

Step 3: Enable Online Order Tickets. (Square Printer Settings)

Once Fresh KDS is configured as a printer station in Square, enable Online Order Tickets in the Square Printer Settings.

  1. From your Square POS, navigate to Settings - Hardware - Printers.

  2. Tap to select your Fresh KDS device.

  3. Enable the following options under ‘Use This Printer For’

    • Online Order Tickets - ‘On.’

    • Automatically Print New Orders - ‘On.’

    • Categories to Print - Confirm all correct categories are selected.

      ⚠️ Please note: If using this Fresh KDS to display orders entered on your Square POS, enable the option for In-Person Tickets.

  4. Tap ‘Test Print’ to verify the printer connection.

  5. Tap ‘Save’ to apply the changes.

Step 4: Confirm Order Types are turned on in Fresh KDS.

  1. From your Fresh KDS App, navigate to Settings - Display Modes.

  2. Toggle On for all applicable Order Types.
