βœ… Fresh KDS Initial Setup & Connection

  1. Create a Fresh KDS account.

  2. Download the Fresh KDS app on your dedicated tablet.

  3. Launch the app and log in with your account credentials.

  4. Name your KDS screen.

  5. Select your POS.

πŸ’« Fresh KDS can receive orders in one of two ways:

  • Set up as a Printer. (Printer Emulation)
    Fresh KDS works with many POS systems if set up as a printer - or what we call Printer Emulation. This also involves:

βš™οΈ Fresh KDS Basic Functionality

During your initial login to the Fresh KDS app, you can choose to customize or use our default settings.

KDS settings can be updated anytime under 'Settings' on the left navigation bar. These features include:

  • Screen Display Modes - Maximize KDS screen space and display orders in a Tiled, Classic, or Split Screen view.

  • Take Out View - Manage third-party and takeout orders under a single, unified display.

  • Sound Notifications - Select a tone, volume, and repeat option for incoming New Orders and/or Curbside β€œI’m Here” notifications.

  • Ticket Transition Times - Stay on track and meet fulfillment goals as order types change colors based on set transitions.

  • Order Options - Configure how items appear on tickets.

  • Font Sizes & Color Options - Select a small, medium, large, or extra-large font size; Select colors for order types and transition updates.

βœ”οΈ Once your KDS is set up and ready to go, send a test order from your POS.

  1. Mark an item or modifier as complete by tapping the line item.

  2. Clear entire orders by tapping the ticket header.

  3. Recall cleared orders by tapping the recall button.

  4. Place orders on hold by tapping the three dots action menu and clicking β€˜hold.’


⚑️ Fresh KDS Advanced Features

If enrolled in the Fresh KDS Advanced Tier, the following features are included:

  • SMS Messaging - Notify customers via SMS when orders are received, bumped from the KDS, and/or ready for pickup.

  • Cross Screen Communication - Simultaneously clear orders on multiple KDS screens or forward orders from one screen to another.

  • Order Tracker - Connect a customer-facing screen using an Amazon Fire TV Stick to display orders that are Being Prepared & Ready.

  • Label & Ticket Printing - Use a Zebra ZD410, Bixolon SRP-S300, or Epson TM-M30ii Bluetooth printer to automatically or manually print labels or paper tickets.
