If enrolled in our Advanced Tier, Fresh KDS supports label & ticket printing with the Zebra ZD410 Printer.

*Production of the Zebra ZD410 printer is being discontinued. Fresh KDS still supports this printer option, and we are currently working to offer support for a replacement.


Step 1: Set up the Zebra ZD410 Printer (4 Parts)

Part 1: Connect the Printer to Power 🔌

  1. Plug the power supply into the printer’s DC power receptacle.

  2. Insert the AC power cord into the power supply.

  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into the appropriate AC electrical outlet.

  4. The active power light will turn green if power is connected.

Part 2: Insert a Label Roll

  1. Open the printer; pull the yellow release latch levers toward the front of the printer and lift the lid upwards.

  2. Pull the yellow roll guides open and insert the media roll with the printing surface facing up.

  3. Release the guides and push together to secure the roll. Verify the label roll turns freely.

  4. Pull the labels to extend out of the front of the printer (beyond the cutter).

  5. Push the labels under both of the roll guides.

  6. Flip the labels up and align the movable media sensor to the center position.

  7. Close the printer; push down and snap both yellow latches shut.

Part 3: Run a Smart Calibration

  1. Power on the printer and verify the printer is in the ready state. (Status indicator is solid green.)

  2. Press and hold the ‘Pause’ and ‘Cancel’ buttons for 2 seconds and release.

  3. The printer will measure a few labels and adjust the media sensing levels.

  4. Once the printer stops, the status indicator will turn solid green, signifying the calibration is complete.

*Note: After the initial calibration is complete, it is not required to perform additional calibrations when adding new labels unless the replacement roll is of a different size.

Part 4: Print a Configuration Test Label

  1. Power on the printer and verify the printer is in the ready state. (Status indicator is solid green.)

  2. Press and hold the ‘Feed’ and ‘Cancel’ buttons for 2 seconds and release.

  3. The printer and network configuration reports will be printed.

  4. Once the printer stops, the status indicator will turn solid green, signifying the configuration is complete.

Step 2: Connect the Zebra ZD410 Printer to Fresh KDS.

Once Step 1 is complete and your Zebra ZD410 Printer is set up, the below steps can be completed in Fresh KDS.

  1. From the Fresh KDS app, navigate to Settings - Printers.

  2. Toggle On for Printing.

  3. Tap ‘Scan’ to search for your Zebra ZD410 Printer. Once detected, it will appear as an available printer.

  4. Tap to select the Zebra ZD410 printer.

  5. Enter a new Printer Name.

  6. Select the Printer Option you plan to use.

    • Label Printer - Print labels.

    • Ticket Printer - Print paper tickets.

  7. Toggle On to enable Automatic Printing by Order Type, if applicable.

    • If disabled, a print option will be available for individual items on a ticket.

  8. Tap ‘Configure.’

  9. Tap ‘Test Print’ to verify the printer setup.


⚠️ Special Notes For Android 12 Users ⚠️

Android 12 requires App Permissions for Location & Nearby devices to discover Bluetooth Printers.

If running V. 2.21.15 or higher, Fresh KDS will prompt the user to allow Fresh KDS access to these permissions, or:

  1. On your Android tablet, navigate to Settings - Apps.

  2. Tap to select Fresh KDS, and tap App Permissions.

  3. Tap 'Location' and select 'Allow only while using the app.'

  4. Navigate back to App Permissions.

  5. Tap 'Nearby devices' and select 'Allow.'
